The a2o lite neon ai trend, explained
The a2o lite neon ai trend is people using AI video to put themselves, a partner, a friend or their pets into the two-person intro dance of "NEON", the debut single of K-pop group A2O LITE. It started within days of the song's release on October 13, 2026. Make yours from your own photos.
What the trend is
"NEON" is the debut digital single of A2O LITE, a nine-member girl group from A2O Entertainment, the label founded by former SM Entertainment chief Lee Soo-man. The single was released on October 13, 2026 at 18:00 KST, and the music video was pre-released the evening before. The song runs 3 minutes 28 seconds, according to Korea Times.
The part everyone copies is not the whole choreography. It is the opening duo intro, danced by two members, Xili and Aijing. Aijing's single-leg turn was singled out in Korean press as the "killing part". Creators rebuild that intro as an AI clip in which two other people stand where the dancers stood: one dancer alone in a wide shot, the partner popping out from behind, a hand wiping across the lens, then the synchronised dance with a high kick and a final pose. Our NEON dance page goes through the moves.
The "AI" in the keyword describes how fans remake it, not the group. Our version of the clip is 15 seconds with the NEON intro audio. We are an unofficial fan tool, and nothing here is official footage.

Dates are from the press reports linked in our sources; where outlets disagree on timing, we say "reported". The first AI clip and the first poster are unconfirmed.
Why it spread
SBS Star reported that users, not the company or the singers, started the memes, the reverse of the usual artist-first challenge. Three things made the intro easy to remake. It is short and has a clear shape: alone, pop-out, wipe, dance, pose. It needs two people, so friends, couples and siblings can share it. And the joke is open to anyone: SBS Star counted clips with Oldboy actors, a My Husband's Woman duo, Chiikawa and a parody pair, each reported to have tens of thousands of likes.
The misheard chorus added a second hook for people outside K-pop. And because AI video can keep a face from one photo for 15 seconds, anyone could star in the clip without learning anything. JoongAng Daily noted that "NEON" is not a short-form-first song, so the spread came from the clip, not from a planned challenge.
Limits: no official AI version or licensed AI tool has been announced as far as we know, and every AI site, ours included, calls itself unofficial.
